Let's cut to the important part: over the past week, our staff
team has discovered that Sntry/Stellular services have been used
to facilitate the distribution of illegal material (i.e.
substances, pornography, etc.). While this problem would
ordinarily be solvable through enhanced moderation, we've found
this sort of content has made up <b>>60%</b> of our total
pageviews over the past two months. I (as well as the rest of
the Stellular staff) have decided that the best course of action
in this situation, is to go ahead and pull the plug on Sntry.
This is a difficult decision which has been in discussion for
months, but I believe this is the best thing to do to prevent
our services from behind used to harm the lives of others.

<p>
Over the past two (almost three) years, I have been in ownership
of Sntry/Stellular services. Unfortunately, other commitments
have caused an oversight in our moderation and development. I
always loved Sntry and the community, but grew tired of it after
about a year. By the fall of 2024, I had effectively abandoned
the project. While I apologize for my lack of communication over
the past year, I thank all of you who stuck with the project for
your continued support. For the past year, I have paid for
Sntry's server costs out of pocket, which I have been fine with
doing as I believed, it was the least I could do for the
community I abandoned. The community that uses Sntry today is
not the same one I left.

<p>
According to our analytics,
<b>55% of traffic to Sntry is from paid advertisements</b>.
Organic search, social, and video consistently rank the lowest
among referral sources. Obviously, for a site which does not
advertise itself, that's not what you want to see. The top pages
for Sntry have been pages which contain links to pirated
content, obscene videos or images, scam sites, telegram groups,
CSAM content, or illicit drug markets. I intended Sntry to be a
place where you could express yourself and share your works for
free quickly and easily. While I always knew an anonymous
pastebin is going to attract some shady personalities (thus is
the nature of any anonymous platform), this is the first time
I've seen them outnumber the legitimate uses.

This can go on no longer. I can no longer ignore Sntry as it is
used to actively harm people. If you're reading this from a page
which advertises such illegal content, I strongly urge you to
seek help immediately.
